Over 200 people attended the Apple Valley Optimist Club’s 4th annual awards dinner on March 8 at the Apple Valley Conference Center. The theme for the event was Always Value Our Children.
Jack Fales, in his usual comedic fashion, roasted Assemblyman Tim Donnelly, at one point gifting him with some pink boxer shorts.
Trish Hill was toasted for her work with youth in the community. She is the spokesperson and community liaison for the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Department. The Police Activities League (PAL) received a $500 donation from the club.
Las Brisas restaurant catered the chicken and prime rib dinner.
The Optimist Club does a lot of good in the community, actively sponsoring the Boy Scouts, youth basketball and baseball team, and reading programs.
