Annual State of the County & Making an Impact on Business Forum

On April 6, 2016, more than 1,000 business professionals, government leaders and community stakeholders will join together to hear the annual State of the County event, titled “Making An Impact.” In addition to the main program presentation, this year’s event includes a business leader’s roundtable featuring a number of regional experts. These industry leaders will share their perspective on what factors are making an impact in the County as well as provide real take away value in terms of how business can get involved and the programs that exist to increase business prosperity. Roundtable participants include: Joel Kotkin, futurist/author/economist; Christopher Gopal, senior fellow, Drucker School of Management and executive director, Drucker School Center for Supply Chain and Logistics; David Hemmings, president, PRA Global;  James Watson, president and CEO of California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC); Darla Longo, vice president, CBRE; Henry D. Shannon, Ph.D., superintendent and president of Chaffey Community College District. The State of the County program presentation will also provide updates on public/private collaboration, strong government leadership and ways in which businesses can tap into economic investment and growth opportunities in the region. Another valuable aspect of the event will be the opportunity to network with business leaders and industry peers as well as hear from and talk with San Bernardino County’s Board of Supervisors. “While our region has benefitted from the growth of the Southern California economy, the County continues to stand out as a strong choice for business investment and career growth. Our job is to continue to invest in the infrastructure, education and quality of life amenities that make the County a preferred choice to live and work. I encourage you to join us at State of the County to hear more about the business opportunities at hand and how you can take part in this region’s continued economic expansion,” said San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Chair James Ramos. The event will be held at the Citizens Business Bank Arena located at 4000 E Ontario Center Pkwy in Ontario starting at 4:30 pm. Additionally, a NAIOP panel entitled “Making an Impact Throughout San Bernardino County” will include successful real estate investors and developers from office, industrial, multifamily and retail sectors. They will share insight into why they continue to find value in San Bernardino County. Their commentary will include what makes a deal work today, where they think the next greatest real estate opportunities will be in the County, and how they are positioning themselves and their projects for success. Check in begins at 3:00 pm and the panel begins at 3:30 pm. Terry Thompson, Director of Real Estate Services, County of San Bernardino will moderate the panel that includes: Kirk R. Johnson, Executive Vice President ,Watson Land Company; Wilber Smith, Founder, Green Law Partners; Randall Lewis, Executive Vice President, Lewis Operating Group of Companies; Russ Beecher, Director of Acquisitions, Principals Real Estate Investors.
