Guest Enjoy Luau at Rock Springs Retirement

Dancing, music, fire twirling, and drumming acts were performed for the residents and guests during a luau at Rock Spring retirement community on Saturday, August 8. The day began with a delicious luau luncheon, featuring Kalua pork, Huli Huli chicken, spring rolls, side dishes and desserts, made with South Pacific style. Rock Spring’s staff personally served the residents and guests during the meal. The Tausala Polynesian group performed dances from the various islands of Polynesia, highlighting the best of Hawaii, Tahiti (French Polynesia), New Zealand (Aotearoa), Samoa, Fiji, and Tonga. Their entertaining show is dedicated to inspiring, promoting, and portraying the vibrant Polynesian culture and traditions. Getting into the act were Rock Spring manager, Lynn, Sheila and some other staff members. Their humorous take on a hula dance had the crowd clapping and laughing joyously. Residents learned some Hawaiian phrases, such as Aloha Ahiahi “Good Evening,” and Aloha au ia oe “I love you.” The show was a pure display of beauty and power, which integrated the passion, talent and love of the islands with excitement, laughter and joy. Everyone enjoyed the exciting journey through islands of the South Pacific! Rock Spring retirement community is located at 20594 Bear Valley Rd, Apple Valley.
