Apple Valley Marine Corps League Changes Its Name

Apple Valley Marine Corps League has changed its name to Victor Valley Marine Corps League. Department of California Commandant Jess Fernandez presented the new Charter to Detachment #1383 Commandant Tom Weber. The Marine Corps League is the only Federally Chartered Marine related Fraternal Organization in the country, having received its Charter on August 4th,1937 and approved by an Act of the Seventy-Fifth Congress of the United States of America. The Marine Corps League was founded in 1923 by World War 1 hero, then Major General John A. Lejeune. The League promotes the traditions of all those who have worn the Eagle Globe and Anchor. The local Detachment sponsors a Unit of the Young Marines and offers a variety of advocacy programs. The Victor Valley Marine Corps League #1383 meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at St. Hilarys Episcopal Church 11305 Hesperia Road at 6:30pm. Contact, Mike Brewer 760-550-8083
