Only One Show Left in Community Concert Series

Percussionist Paul McDermand played the steel drums with his touring band on February 8, during a performance put on by the Newton T. Bass Family Concert Series. McDermand discovered music at the age of 7 when he heard the theme song from “A Summer Place” starring Sandra Dee on his dad’s radio. McDermand played music from Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tijuana Brass, the Limelighters, and others. The last concert of the season, Sax Sational, features Rob Verdi, sharing his rare and unusual instrument collection, along with five decades of songs and artists that have shaped the saxophone. On April 26, he invites a local school band to share the stage. For tickets, call (760) 961-0486, or visit www.
