Veterans Receive Gifts and Lunch from National Spirit of Freedom

On December 20, residents of the William J. “Pete” Knight Veterans Home received a treat for the fifth year in a row. The National Spirit of Freedom, partnering with the Kick’s Kafe Senior Klub, honored these veterans, who are heroes that have unselfishly given so that we have the freedom we know today. About $3000 worth of gifts were given, and each resident received a $20 Walmart gift card, plus a Christmas bag with lots of goodies. Many prizes were also given out. Music by Lawrence and his elves, and everyone enjoyed pizza and spaghetti for lunch, and homemade desserts. Many came from all over California and Arizona to help out and salute the veterans. Children donated their favorite stuffed toy to show how much they care about them. The veterans home in Lancaster serves veterans from all over California, and many are from the Victorville High Desert area.
