A Salute to Freedom was the theme for Phelan Phamily Phun Days, held on Saturday, September 13.
The parade Grand Marshall this year consisted of representatives from the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines and the Coast Guard riding on a six-ton military vehicle.
Entries included a piece of the World Trade Center on a flatbed truck, and a mule pack of the Eastern Sierras that brings much-needed supplies to firefighters in hard to reach areas.
The all-day event celebrated the end of summer this year, with typically great weather, in fact it was downright hot!
A car show, vendor booths, street performers and many other fun festivities made the day a real pleasure.
The annual Champagne Classic Car Show was open to new, old, and performance cars as well as the usual classics.
It featured over 35 judged events, including Best Burnout, Sound Off, American and import, boat and motorcycle and many other class events.
The festival usually attracts around 4,000 people, according to a representative of the Phelan Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the festival each year.
