Hot Rods & Harleys Event Benefits Wounded Warrior Project

Hot Rods and Harleys was held on May 16 as a fundraiser to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). The event was presented by Mojave Desert Classics and the Victorville Harley-Davidson dealership.

There were raffles, live music, plus contests for best bike, best hot rod and best pick of the night.

A $5 donation per car or bike went to the WWP, a non-profit that raises awareness and enlists the public’s aid to support unique, direct programs that help with the needs of injured service members.

Even when a veteran receives
financial help from VA programs, the limitations of those funds demand help from outside groups like this.

Benefits from the VA can be generous, but often don’t cover broader emotional and spiritual needs, like the desire to be a productive member of the community.

This year, the WWP will help about 300 injured veterans get closer to true independence through medical care, therapy and assistance programs. The group’s three year old Independence Programalso provides financial security and peace of mind for wounded veterans.
