Adelanto High School Holds Open House

On April 26 an open house was held at the newly built Adelanto High School. The school is part of the Victor Valley Union High School District.
A ribbon cutting was held in the gymnasium, and tours of the new school were available to those in attendance.
The school has solar electricity on the parking lot cover, and an outdoor amphitheatre, as well as all of the modern school amenities.


United Furniture: Manufacturing Jobs in the High Desert

Speakers Jim Dye, general manager of United Furniture Industries, and Brian D. Parno, COO of Stirling Development, gave an overview of warehouse and distribution projects located at Southern California Logistic Airport industrial area.
Dye spoke about jobs at United Furniture’s one million square-foot manufacturing facility that produces 1000 pieces of furniture per day.
Parno talked about the processof building “extra-large” warehouses on speculation, and how Rubbermaid and United Furniture are just two examples of how that plan is starting to pay off for the former George Air Force Base.


Girl Scouts Expands to New Office & Store

On May 6, the Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio High Desert held a ribbon cutting for their new facility at 17189 Yuma Street, Victorville.
The location has offices, reception and meeting areas, and a store with the cutest items for girl scouts to purchase and flaunt their membership.

Walmart Superstore Opens on Palmdale Rd.

Victorville’s newest Walmart Superstore had a “pre-opening” party on May 12. New department managers were introduced to a crowd of people.
The new location is at 12234 Palmdale Road, close to the Hwy 395 intersection.
