Big Bear Walk to Benefit Multiple Sclerosis Research was Started in 2005

The Big Bear Moose Lodge held their 9th annual Big Bear MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Walk on May 3. The walk started in 2005, and this year the group raised close to $60,000.

Two team members who helped from the beginning were honored this year: Moose members Bill King and Rob Karns were also Lions Club members, and both passed away last year. Their wives Patty King and Barbara Karns received the “most inspirational walkers” award for 2014.

The event helps the National MS Society fund research, advocate for change, and help people with MS.

Walk MS is a day that brings friends, families, and co-workers together to embrace an important cause to make a powerful statement and a real difference for those with MS.

Many communities on the mountain and down the hill participate in the event. DJ Fred Frye donates his time announcing the event every year.
