The March of Dimes 38th Annual Victor Valley March for Babies walk is scheduled for Saturday, April 12.
The March for Babies 2014 Victor Valley Chair, Suzanne Richards, CEO of Victor Valley Global Medical Center hopes to raise $75,000 this year.
This is the nation’s first and largest charity walking event. Victor Valley residents can sign up at http://www.marchforbabies.org and start a team with co-workers, family, or friends.
The walk will be at Victor Valley College, with check-in beginning at 7:00 a.m. and the walk program starting at 9:00 a.m.
The March of Dimes helps fund lifesaving research and educational programs aimed at helping moms have healthy babies. She feels that brigning in new partners and helping to raise awareness throughout the greater Victor Valley and Barstow areas, where 11 percent of babies are born prematurely.
Richards, CEO of Victor Valley Global Medical Center, knows how important the March of Dimes mission is. She eagerly took on the role to raise awareness and important funding to provide for babies who are born premature or with birth defects. Victor Valley Global Medical Center’s “Global Trotters” will be joined by other local High Desert teams including Southwest Gas, K-mart, Desert Community Bank, the DMV.

I can’t think of a more important cause than our babies and their families,” said Richards. “Victor Valley Global Medical Center is extremely proud to partner with the incredible March of Dimes community.
