Jan. 20 (Mon) – Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Peace March & Celebration. The 9th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Peace March and Ceremony will be held on Monday, January 20, the federal holiday marking the birthday of MLK. This year’s theme is “Milestones in Civil Rights History,” and will feature a program after the march, put on by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. High Desert Alumnae Chapter.
The march starts at 10:00 a.m. in front of Victorville City Hall, at the corner of Seneca Road and Civic Drive in Victorville. Following the march, an inspiring program will feature music, speeches and presentations. Both events are free to the public, and all people in the community are encouraged to attend. This event is a perfect opportunity for the local community to honor Dr. King’s legacy of empowering individuals, strengthening communities, bridging barriers, and creating solutions to social problems.
